Martha "Hope" Mulkey Napier, 64, passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2016. She was a native and lifelong resident of Yorktown, Virginia.

Hope was a 1971 graduate of York High School and then started her career with Bank of America. She began as a teller and progressed to data base administrator, retiring after 40 years of service. She was of the Christian faith, loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, enjoyed traveling, and planning family vacations.

Martha "Hope" Mulkey Napier, 64, passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2016. She was a native and lifelong resident of Yorktown, Virginia.

Hope was a 1971 graduate of York High School and then started her career with Bank of America. She began as a teller and progressed to data base administrator, retiring after 40 years of service. She was of the Christian faith, loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, enjoyed traveling, and planning family vacations.

Hope was preceded in rest by her father, William "Bill" Mulkey. She is survived by her husband, Thomas "Tommy" R. Napier; daughter, Crystal Faith Thomas (Charlie); son, Andrew Creed Collins (Katie); step-daughter, Dianne Napier; step-son, Christopher Napier (Stephanie); 11 grandchildren; mother, Martha Ann Mulkey; siblings, Luther Mulkey (Janeau), Shanan Laflam (Jack), David Mulkey, and Bruce Mulkey (Lori); and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Peninsula SPCA, 523 J. Clyde Morris Blvd., Newport News, VA 23601.

The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of Hope's life will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, November 18, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
