Ms. Lessie L. Watts, 74, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Riverside Regional Medical Center.

Lessie was a native of Thomasville, GA and resided in Newport News for 33 years. She retired from Siemens Automotive/Continental in 2004 after 23 years of service as an assembler. She was a member of New Beech Grove Baptist Church.

She is preceded in rest by her parents, Thomas and Rosa Lee Mitchell; brother, David Mitchell; sister, Lenora Johnson; and brother, Israel Mitchell. Lessie is survived by her two sons, Anthony Watts of Newport...

She is preceded in rest by her parents, Thomas and Rosa Lee Mitchell; brother, David Mitchell; sister, Lenora Johnson; and brother, Israel Mitchell. Lessie is survived by her two sons, Anthony Watts of Newport News and Roscoe Watts, Jr. of Clinton, MS; two daughters, Rosemarie Williams and Mary Watts, both of Newport News; seven grandchildren, Jaguar Watts, Leroy Sessions, Vanne Williams, Brianna Moody, Vanetrius Williams all of Newport News, Dwayne Sands of NY, NY and Justin Sands of Richmond, VA; great-granddaughter, Tyana Sellers-Sessions; two sisters, Ida Mitchell of Nashville, TN and Chestina Mitchell Archibald of Atlanta, GA; niece, Harriet Hickson of Nashville, TN; and nephew, Merrick Mitchell.

The family will receive friends 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of life service will be held 11:00 am, Friday, April 10, 2015 at New Beech Grove Baptist Church, 326 Tabbs Lane, Newport News, VA 23602 with Pastor Willard Maxwell officiating. Entombment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park.
