Dorothy McAllister Perry, 77, passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2017. She was a native of Wytheville, Virginia.

Dorothy was member of Providence Baptist Church in Gloucester, Virginia.

Dorothy was preceded in rest by her parents, Lee Roy King, Sr. and Esther Mae King. She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Gale McAllister; son, John David McAllister; five grandchildren, Brandi Marie Ward, David Michael Bates, John David McAllister, Jr., Jacob Donald McAllister, and Sarah Nichole Baranski; great-granddaughter, Brylee Sophia Baranski; brother, Lee Roy King; and sister, Wanda Helvey.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Gale McAllister; son, John David McAllister; five grandchildren, Brandi Marie Ward, David Michael Bates, John David McAllister, Jr., Jacob Donald McAllister, and Sarah Nichole Baranski; great-granddaughter, Brylee Sophia Baranski; brother, Lee Roy King; and sister, Wanda Helvey.

She left a beautiful legacy of love for all she encountered. We shall carry it in our hearts as we remember and celebrate her life and rejoice knowing that she rests peacefully in the arms of Jesus.

The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home and 12:00 to 2:00 pm, Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Mt. Mitchell United Methodist Church, Wytheville, Virginia, with a celebration of Dorothy's life to follow at 2:00 pm in the church. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

The family requests that all local and out-of-town floral arrangements be delivered to Grubb Funeral Home, 215 S. 6th Street, Wytheville, Virginia 24382 or monetary donations can be made in memory of Dorothy McAllister Perry to Mt. Mitchell United Methodist Church.
